As a first-generation middle school, high school, and college graduate, I was fortunate to attend and earn my B.F.A. from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, an institution with a radically progressive history founded on the belief that advanced education should be free. Chris has been involved in technical/creative professions for most of his life. Starting his university studies in pure Math he graduated as an architect, then retrained as a furniture maker and worked for ten years as an independent designer/maker in Scotland. Moving to the US in 1989 he added a Master’s in product design and subsequently pursued a successful design career in North Carolina and California before being hired by Sun Microsystems as a senior digital modeler and animator.
