Biography, Education and Training

Patty Gallagher is an Artistic Associate at both Santa Cruz Shakespeare and The Rogue Theatre in Tucson, Arizona.

Performing credits include: The Comedy of Errors, The Winter’s Tale, Love Labour’s Lost, Romeo & Juliet, Two Gentleman of Verona, Measure for Measure, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hamlet, Much Ado about Nothing, Macbeth (Santa Cruz Shakespeare); Henry IV, Part 1, Three Musketeers, Diaries of Adam and Eve (Shakespeare Santa Cruz); Moby Dick, Three Tall Women, King Lear, Merchant of Venice, Kafka’s Monkey, A Winter’s Tale, Orlando, Othello, Arcadia, The Decameron, The Tempest, Good Woman of Setzuan, Cherry Orchard, Purgatorio, Naga Mandala, Red Noses, Act Without Words, Journey to the West (Rogue Theatre); As You Like It, Comedy of Errors, Twelfth Night, Happy Days, A Midsummer Night’s Dream (California Shakespeare Theatre); The Conference of the Birds, Orestes, Two Gentleman of Verona (Folger Theatre; Washington DC); Shipwrecked! In addition to her work on stage, she also served as a director, movement director, and dramaturg. Patty was the former Director in Residence at the Clown Conservatory, CircusCenter, in San Francisco, CA.

• Acting, Feminist Theater, Balinese Dance, Dance Drama, Beckett, Movement for Actors, Shakespeare, Clown and Mask Traditions.

Honors and Awards: 

• From 2014-2017 served as the Pavel Machotka Chair in Creative Studies, Porter College.
• Fulbright Scholar 2006, Lecture and Research Fellowship – Quito Ecuador.
