Zhicong Yu is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC). Before joining UCSC, Zhicong spent 8+ years in Research and Development within the healthcare industry. He is the author of 20+ US/PCT patents. He was a Research Fellow at the CT Clinic Innovation Center at Mayo Clinic from May 2014 to April 2016. He received his PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in November 2013.

Zhicong Yu has more than a decade of experience in advanced CT imaging research and new product development for applications in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology and radiation oncology. His research interests and expertise include advanced CT image reconstruction, computer simulation and modeling, physics correction, artifacts mitigation, imaging chain design, scan protocol design and image quality assessment.
