Marina Segatti is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Feminist Studies with designated emphases in Latin American & Latino Studies and Critical Race & Ethnic Studies at the University of California Santa Cruz. Considering the prominent role of gender politics in the rise of extreme right movements and the concurrent resurgence of democratic efforts, her research project explores the interplay between gender, political activism, and resistance in response to the extreme right's emergence in Brazil. She focuses on the intricate connections between gender, sexuality, and political discourse as manifested through social media platforms.
