Currently working on genome assembly of a very wide taxonomy range as part of the California Conservation Genomics project (CCGP). As the genome assembler of CCGP, I'm in charge of assembling genomes of ~150 different species.

Since I joined UCSC I've been involved in genome assembly of human and non-human primates and developing tools for gap closing and genome assembly QC based on Chicago,HiC and OmniC data.

During my Ph.D. I worked on HTS/NGS data simulations and their underlying genomic data to understand the impact of several NGS parameters in the phylogenetic inference pipeline.
