Disability Resource Center

I have been working in disability advocacy and education in some capacity since my first professional position as a sign language interpreter in the 1980's.  I attended law school and graduated in 1999 with a law degree and an MSW from the University of Connecticut.  I worked in special education and disability law for six years before I transitioned to higher education.

I spent nine years building and chairing a criminal justice program at a community college in Indiana.  From there, I became the Director of the Disability Resource Center at Purdue University for several years.  I moved west in 2016 and became the director of the Disabled Students' Program at UC Berkeley, where I stayed for six years until I moved to Santa Cruz, CA.

I am currently the Director of the Disability Resource Center at UC Santa Cruz in the redwood forest,  Go Slugs!

In my "free time" I also have been teaching online for about 15 years.
