Hao Ye is an Assistant Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at UC Santa Cruz. He received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in 2012, his M.E. degree in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2015, and his Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, in 2020. Before joining UC Santa Cruz, he worked as a Machine Learning Researcher at Qualcomm AI Research. His research focuses on deep learning assisted physical layer and media access control (MAC) layer designs in wireless networks with applications on Internet of things and vehicular communications. He is a recipient of the 2022 IEEE Communications Society Fred W. Ellersick Prize.
