My primary scientific responsibility as Director of NMR Technology at UC Santa Cruz is to facilitate collaborative research with a diverse array of faculty on campus, including those in the Departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Microbiology and Environmental Toxicology, Molecular, Cellular and Developmental (MCD) Biology, and Biomolecular Engineering. Utilizing my extensive experience in biomolecular NMR spectroscopy, I help design and execute NMR experiments, assist with data processing and interpretation, and work with faculty and/or their trainees to assist with protein and/or RNA structure determination. Additional responsibilities also include equipment maintenance, general training, creating web interfaces for spectrometer scheduling/billing and working with industrial clientele who use our magnets.
