Bing Liu is a Research Scientist Manager at Meta. He is affiliated as an adjunct professor at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Bing research focuses on machine learning for natural language processing and conversational AI systems. At Meta, his team works on Llama, Meta's open source large language model, and its application to conversational agents. Before joining Meta, he was at Google Research working on end-to-end learning of neural dialog systems. Bing received his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University, where he worked on deep learning and reinforcement learning for task-oriented dialog systems. Bing has served as Area Chair for ACL, EMNLP, etc., and Senior Program Committee (SPC) for AAAI and ICASSP. He organized multiple workshops at ACL, NAACL, EMNLP.
