I am an oceanographer researching the ecology of animals central to marine food webs. Previous studies have focused on zooplankton and krill, recently expanding to include fishes. My broad interest is to improve understanding of the processes that underlie ecosystem structure, function, and change. I enjoy making field observations and being part of collaborative, interdisciplinary teams. Ongoing postdoctoral work with Dr. Megan Cimino aims to develop statistical models for predicting the abundance and distribution of zooplankton along the Antarctic Peninsula. I am also studying the California Current ecosystem to inform Chinook salmon management in collaboration with NOAA's Southwest Fisheries Science Center.
