Whose Land Are You On?

I am interested in developing critical pedagological practices that give students an oppurtunity to engage in multi-disciplinary learning across the social and biological sciences and humanities. Currently, I help run an ENVS 84 undergraduate internship with the Environmental Studies Department, where students can gain hands-on horticultural experience working with California Native Plants in Trescony Community Gardens. This internship also focuses on teaching students about California environmental history, colonial ecological violence, and the contemporary politics of plant stewardship and conservation in the state. This internship runs every quarter.

I am blessed to teach, travel, and work in some of the most ecologically diverse landscapes in the central coast. If you want to follow some of my planthropological adventures, you can check out my amateur ecology blog here.
