Direct imaging of exoplanets and adaptive optics instrumentation:

- conducting large direct imaging surveys searching for exoplanet and brown dwarf companions

- studying the population demographics of systems with exoplanet and brown dwarf companions

- developing new adaptive optics technologies for high contrast imaging, both in the lab and on-sky

- phasing of large segmented mirrors

- near-infrared SAPHIRA detectors
