University Advancement
I manage projects and provide writing and editing for campus marketing initiatives. Our goal is to elevate the university's reputation, promote its accomplishments, publicize news, and provide our various audiences and friends with information and opportunities.
A few of my responsibilities:
• Edit UC Santa Cruz Magazine, the campus's quarterly online alumni magazine
• Edit the monthly campus e-newsletter
• Provide language and direction for Communications & Marketing collateral and websites
• Manage communications and marketing for major annual university events such as Alumni Weekend
• Lead creative projects
• Provide messaging, content, and editing for philanthropic, engagement, and promotional collateral
• Collaborate with staff and vendors who provide news and feature writing, mass email production, philanthropic stories, videos, events, and more
• Serve on a leadership team guiding the university's communications, marketing, and branding efforts
• Act as resident grammar queen and writing consultant :)
Before joining the university, I worked as a newspaper reporter and columnist at the Santa Cruz Sentinel, as a senior editor at University of California Office of the President, as an editor at Red Herring Communications, and as a copy editor at California Lawyer magazine.
I graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in English literature.
In my copious free time, I can be found hanging out with my family, surfing, and reading.
